Data compliance

How the service is wired to handle customer and Strava data.

This page focuses on platform-level handling: which systems process order data, how Strava-connected data is used, and the operational controls ArtYourData applies around payment, admin access, exports, and deletion requests.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Core commitments

  • Use only the data needed to create, review, and fulfil an order.
  • Respect Strava authorization and data-scope boundaries set by the athlete.
  • Delete Strava-derived personal data on valid deletion requests or revocation events, unless law requires retention.
  • Do not use Strava or customer order data for targeted advertising or resale.

Systems used by the service

  • Strava for athlete authorization and activity data that powers artwork generation.
  • Supabase for persisted order records when database-backed ordering is enabled.
  • Stripe for checkout sessions, payment processing, and payment webhooks.
  • Resend for transactional order, gift and approval emails when email delivery is configured.
  • Bicep Press for print fulfilment, receiving the finished artwork, print specifications and delivery/contact information.
  • Optional Sanity content tooling when the site is run in Sanity-backed CMS mode.

Security controls in the app

  • Secrets such as API credentials and signing values are kept in environment configuration rather than page code.
  • Stripe webhook payloads are verified before order-state updates are accepted.
  • Internal render pages require a signed render access token instead of public access.
  • Admin routes can be protected with HTTP basic auth when an admin password is configured.

Export handling

Final production exports are generated server-side and written into order-scoped export folders. Public static serving is blocked for those order export paths, and customer-facing order views expose status rather than open directory access.

What to do if you want your data removed

Send a request to hello@artyourdata.com. Include the order email and any order identifier you have. If you connected Strava, revoke access from your Strava apps page as well so the authorization is ended on both sides.

Where a request relates to data that Strava controls inside your Strava account, we may direct you to Strava's own privacy process for the portion of the request that only Strava can satisfy.

Removing our Strava access ends the connection for all orders linked to that athlete. We review affected activity data and artwork files, stop further processing where possible, and coordinate removal with our print provider and backup handling. We will confirm what was removed and explain any records we must keep. A print already sent or a file you have downloaded cannot be recalled automatically.

What this page does not claim

  • No promise of zero retention where accounting, tax, or dispute obligations require a record to remain.
  • No claim that ArtYourData controls data held solely inside your Strava account or Stripe account.
  • No use of special-category health profiling beyond the activity data you explicitly choose to connect.

Questions or incidents

Privacy and compliance questions should be sent to hello@artyourdata.com. If a processor-side issue affects order data, ArtYourData will investigate, contain the issue where possible, and notify affected parties when applicable law requires it.
